Hello everyone. I have been going back and forth between excelsior and ISU. Frankly the cpne scares me. I like the idea of ISU and actual clinicals. But I got this info from ISU:Enrollment in Indiana State University is not required for completion of the equivalency examinations in Phase I, however, it is required prior to progressing to Phase II. Students must complete the following ten (10) courses, or their equivalent, with a C or better, prior to enrolling into the College of Nursing, Health, & Human Services and progressing to Phase II:* ENG 101 & 105 or ENG 107 - English Composition (6 credit hours) CHEM 100/100L - Chemistry (4 credit hours) COMM 101 - Intro to Communications (3 credit hours) CS101 - Information Technology (3 credit hours) BIO 231/231L & 241/241L - Anatomy & Physiology *(6 credit hours) BIO 274/274L - Microbiology (3 credit hours) MATH 102 - Quantitative Analysis (3 credit hours) PSY 101 - General or Intro Psychology (3 credit hours) *Other general education and cognate courses required for degree completion are:* ENG 305 - Advanced Expository Writing *(3 credit hours) Non-Native Language (6 credit hours) AHS 340 - Statistics (3 credit hours) BIO 412 - Pathophysiology (3 credit hours) PE 101 - Physical Education (2 credit hours) SOC 101 - Foundations of Sociology (3 credit hours) PSY 266 - Lifespan Developmental Psych (3 credit hours) Historical Studies (3 credit hours) Literary Studies (3 credit hours) Fine and Performing Arts (3 credit hours) Ethics and Social Responsibility (3 credit hours) Global Perspectives and Cultural Diversity (3 credit hours) Upper Division, Integrative Electives (6 credit hours)Now I got my Lpn 13 years ago and don't have any of that!Has anyone else had to do all of those pre reqs? And how long did it take you?And seriously PE? I am to old for PE! LolThanks,Kathy*
Sorry not sure why it posted in one big paragraph. I didn't type it that way.

The prerequisites are required by the major. If you went the ADN route the prerequisites would be similar. No getting around them.
Yikes! Ok thank you!

I am also considering this route, can you take those pre-reqs somewhere else and transfer?
I am also considering this route, can you _ I would take your pre requisites at an accredited college or university. There are some on line colleges that are accredited that ISU will accept their credits.
I'm taking mine at National University that is accredited through WASC does that transfer? Soonoma State is also WASC approved so wouldn't it be ok since they work with ISU??
For definitive information about what colleges/university units transfer to ISU, you need to contact the counselor at your college/university and also a counselor at ISU.
