Here are some hot topics both old and new

1. Organ donation process...is it fair?

2. Safe staffing ratios for all states...currently only Ca has them in place

3. Managed care.....a good or bad thing for patients

4. The positive and negative aspects of a nursing union on the profession

5 HIPPA are we going to far? or are all these regulations helping our patients

6. Is the customer service model really the right one when caring for our ill

7 Dealing with psych patients in an acute care setting

8 OUR ED system is a mess. What is good and bad about it...Can it be fixed

9 Dealing with the uninsured...what is the solution and what about illegal immigrants how do we provide care for them whan they are uninsured

I would go with safe staffing issue..there is a lot of info on that and alot of studies done to prove the point it helps save lives...but it is your choice of course...pick something that fascinates you so it will be fun to research and write

I think a good paper on hospital acquired infections would be a good idea
