Issue at Union Hospital

Published

Hello,

I work for a union hospital. I have been there for over a year. a few months ago, a new security supervisor got hired and began harassing me for parking my sprinter van in the parking lot while I worked. After he verified me, I was cleared. Up until now, I haven't had any problems and I even have spoken to management for day to day activities. Yesterday evening, I get approached by another security guard and told I need to leave the property and I am trespassing. Law enforcement was called and I moved my vehicle. Has anyone else had this problem before? Its a sprinter van and I'm only parked there while I'm working. opinions would be appreciated.

OP:

I still don't get why you want to get a lawyer involved over something that you could take up with your supervisor and others within the work place.

I would be also upset if someone was threatening me with tresspassing when I was clearly an employee. My badge, etc would be enough to prove that.

Please tread carefully as this could be seen as an agression. Times are really tough now for so many people and people's jobs are at stake, even nurses. I would be concerned that a lawsuit over something that could be potentially resolved within a workplace environment may be overly agressive action. I wouldn't want your desire to make a right result in difficulties with employment in the future. As it is difficult to interpret tone in the written text, my tone is of concern for fellow nurses it is not meant to be read in an agressive tone.

Just like all issues that are brought up through the union. It looks like this one is going to proceed as a grievance with the Union and filed with the NLRB. One should not allow this type of behavior to go unnoticed and suggesting otherwise is irresponsible. I'm most likely not going to sue or pursue that avenue, but I'm definitely going to make sure that they don't do this to someone else in the future.
