Is it true more students fail the HESI test the first time than pass?

Updated:   Published

I was just reading online yesterday and saw an article that said most students fail the HESI test the first time around?!!

How discouraging is that to read.

I don't know the percentage of pass/fail the first time around. I do know that there are a lot that do not pass the first time for many different reasons. However, from my experience it seems to be about 50/50. I know of several people that passed the first time and many that did not. One of the main reasons that I have found with the people that I know for failing is that they didn't have adequate time to prepare. Some people that I know failed by one question or two in one section and smashed the test in every other section.

I personally used two different study guides and gave myself plenty of time to prepare. I studied for a couple of weeks in between semesters. I smashed every section the first time around, and I attribute it 100% to prep.

If you are preparing for the hesi I wish you the best of luck. Give yourself enough time to prepare, and most of all don't stress yourself out. :):):)

I dont know anything about that, but I just wanted to say you shouldnt let some article get you down like that. If you study and do practice test for the HESI then you should do fine. Ignore that article.
