If you find free housing, please let me know. I had a position that claimed free housing, only to find out that part of my pay included a daily housing allowance that I could use towards paying for an extended stay hotel. Those travel nursing contracts are worded some kinda way. Read and reread that contract!
Fastaff does, one of the few
No friend, there is no such thing as a free lunch. Fastaff, like every other agency, charges hospitals an all inclusive bill rate for every hour you work. If they don't pay for housing, they can pay you more in another area of compensation.
I'm also very sorry to tell you that there is no Santa Claus. Or tooth fairy. And there is nothing in life that is free. That includes "free" healthcare in Europe. Someone pays for everything. Usually us.
By the way, virtually every agency offers a housing stipend in lieu of provided housing. I wasn't sure if Fastaff required that you take provided housing (they do try to insist during strikes) so here is what I found in their FAQs:
That should help make it clear exactly where that "free housing" is coming from: your compensation.

I'm finding out there is no true free housing? Any comments on if this is true? Thanks
