Hello everybody! I'm a fresh nursing graduate and I'd like to apply to take the Hawaii NCLEX. However, I am a California resident. Can I still do Hawaii?

Good luck!
Your response is much appreciated. What I want to know specifically is if residency in Hawaii is required to apply to take the Hawaii NCLEX. I have scoured the internet in order to find out but no luck haha.
Does anybody know? If you could possibly redirect me to a link a website that specifically answers this I would greatly appreciate that. Cheers!

I will be graduating in December from Texas. I have already talked to the board of nursing about the license. follow the instructions on the form. As long as its nationally accredited then it should be fine.
However I must warn you, there is a high probability you may have to work as an aide for 6+ months before you can enter a residency program.
Have you ever been to the islands?

Residency is not required in order to obtain a license in the state of HI (I know this from experience). I actually graduated from school in VA, but sat for NCLEX in OK. You can sit for NCLEX anywhere in the US. I hope that makes sense :-) Good Luck.
sorry after reading this I understood what OP was asking. I was thinking Residency program, some places call it a graduate nurses program.
