Is a Refresher course really necessary/helpful??

Although I have already made up my mind I would like some feedback. It's been nearly six years since I've graduated nursing school, I have never worked as a nurse. I feel (no, I am)uninformed on many topics. Unlike new grads who have so much nursing knowledge after graduating, I'm practically clueless (or so I believe) . I've decided to put a hold on applying for RN jobs until I complete my refresher course (sept-october) I'm sure everything will come back to me quickly during the course and boost my confidence. I say all that to say, is a Refresher Course REALLY necessary/helpful??

Bravo bravo to you! I am in a similar situation. I graduated in Dec 2006 passed the NCLEX in 2007 but did not find employment but now I plan on taking an online refresher couse with a clinical portion. I will not be afraid to ask questions and ask for help, I also was a very good student so I will be up to par- as long as I ask for help!:)
