IMO MCCCD really cuts to the chase when it comes to courses required. There aren't a lot of nonsense courses thrown into their curriculum. Whatever they're asking you to take ----- I can't imagine you'd be exempt from them had you stayed in Michigan.
What additional courses are they requiring of you?
Wait a sec. Six courses for entry into the program doesn't sound right. All that's required is Chem, A&PI, A&PII, Micro, English, and Math. Surely you already took some of that for your LPN?
I do know of other schools whose bare bones requirements for entry into the nursing program are less. However they're quite a hike from you, plus what's the point? You'd still have to take those same courses sometime, and it's not necessarily advised they be taken as coreqs.
Thanks for the information. I truly appreciate the comments. I just read that Estrella Mountain comminty college has just been approved for a nursing program. I'm going to check with them. Its in Avondale & not really that far. I have learn so much in the little time that I have registered with this forum. Truly appreciate all the help from the other nurses. Thanks Sherol

Just so you know, all of the program that are affiliated with the Maricopa community colleges will tell you the same thing as far as pre-req's go. They are all basically the same program just at different schools. I wan't sure if you were aware since you just mentioned Estrella mountain.
