If by traveler you would be expecting to work per diem and still receive travel money and housing costs, etc., I doubt it. Most facilities that only need someone one or two shifts per pay period will utilize agency or direct hire per diem/casual employees. Why not contract the hospitals directly and inquire about this or call some local agencies to see what they offer.

Would travel nursing work as a part time/PRN position?
I have my reg f/t job that I love but I also want to earn some extra money. I also do not want to travel out of state. I see that their are several RN travel positions w/in a reasonable driving distance for me and it would be worth it for me if I could just do it as I need to. It would be more like 1 day a week for me.
Also the facility I work at now is affiliated w/ the larger hospital in the neighboring area that is looking for travel nurses. I was wondering if that would be allowed because working at the NH affiliated w/ our hosp we can't get more than our 40hrs/wk or it's considered OT. Any thoughts/advice would be appreciated.
Thanks.
