Is nursing worth it?

Is all the stress of nursing school really worth it in the end?

The stress i have experienced has caused me to lose about 4-5 pounds in a matter of 2 months. Ive had frequent migraines, hardly sleep, & just feel overwhelmingly depressed every single day.

I know these things may be common in nursing students, but i was wondering if going through all this is worth it?

Im well into the program. Im in my third semester of 5. Well, i start my third semester Monday. Im trying to keep a positive outlook. My main problem, that i see, is that i lack the confidence in myself which then hinders my studying & eventually my exam grades. But second semester ended & i passed all my classes! So this went to show me that i should have more confidence in myself & that i can get through nursing school.

I cannot see myself doing anything else other than nursing. And as i watched the previous nursing class graduate a few weeks ago, i couldnt help but tell myself that that will be me up there, graduating in April/May 2014.

That is why i am still in the program. I think the stress gets to me & overwhelms me. But ive done & finished year one & if i can get through that, then i can get through these last 3 semesters!

(this is just me speaking before the actual start of third semester lol hopefully this mindset stays intact when school begins Monday)

Is not worth it because of the saturation, time spent and complexity.

Again, another old thread that you're digging up and disclosing dissatisfaction with nursing. Just because something didn't work out for you doesn't mean it can't work for anyone else.
