I was just wondering if anybody might be able to tell me of any schools in the UK that are not funded by the NHS fund. That accept fee paying applicants...
I contacted a school in London, and they said that the only way i would be able to come to study nursing in the UK from Canada is if I satisfy the bursary criteria. Because most of the nursing programme's are funded by the NHS fund. In order to do that I would have to be a resident of the UK for at least 3 years prior to study.
Any help is appreciated!

Some universities will take International students but generally preference is giving to people who meet the UK/EU resident criteria. All training is done by universities now
Do you know which Universities do accept international nursing students?
Not really, You really need to contact them and discuss with the ones that you fancy going to. Remember tuition for International will be high and you will always be treated as a IEN in Canada and meet their requirements. Also be aware that UK training is more specialised and you need to make sure the university meets Canadian requirements ie theory and clinical hours in Mental health, Paeds, Obstetrics and general Adult
Alright, thank you. Is being viewed as an IEN a negative thing? I thought that the training offered in the UK is superior to that in most schools in Canada. I always thought that it would be a good thing...Well maybe not good, just not seen as negatively.

I think your going to find it extremely difficult to find a university that will accept international students, mainly because there is such a waiting list from our own home grown students there are rarely any places left. I suppose the best chance you would have is looking to the universities in some of the big cities, maybe London. But I would be very surprised if you were successful
