I just started my third semester and I am already over loaded! It seems like I can never get ahead in the material/readings. It is so easy to get overwhelmed with all the information being handed out, projects to be done, clinicals to be prepared for etc. I need some helpful tips on panic control. I am almost done and it seems I keep getting more worked up! Any advice will be greatly appreciated.:bugeyes:Thanks!!

Technically being in nursing school is a bit unorganized and organized at the same time. See, they're trying to fit a lot of stuff into four years. I just graduated from nursing school and let me tell you this, just find time for a little bit of rest and relaxation and don't panic.
I got used to all the stuff they heaped on us and I was pretty busy but I still had time for family and friends..
Hope that helps!

I'm in my 4th quarter ... 3 to go. I have also found much of the nursing program unorganized. Instead, you have to organize yourself. I made a calendar using microsoft Word and put on it what I needed done for each day ... chapter(s) to be read for each class, test, assignments due plus clinical schedule. I also added other things outside of school that I was obligated to do. Each day I look at my homemade calendar and check off what I've done and see what else I need to do. It's easier for me to see the whole month in front of me and plan what to do next. Be sure to take a little time for yourself each day. And don't neglect your family ... especially if you are a mom. A good mom will be a good nurse - one who will not just "do her duty" but will truly minister to her patients and help them improve their health.

It happens. Because of whatever that is you have to do, you may find yourself behind on readings. In those cases, what helps me is that the night before class, instead of skimming over and learning very few about the topic to be discussed, I just review the anatomy and physiology of whatever it is that's to be studied. During lecture time the dots usually connect themselves.
