I'd check out your states rules on renewal. My biggest concern would be that there is a minumum number of hours you need to put in to be able to qualify for renewal. So even if you have a few months grace period to get your newal papers in if you did not meet the required hours they might not see you as qualified for renewal.

I am from California and moved away for three years, got my cna there. It recently expired in July. I really would like to re-cert here in California but do not want to take the course over. Does anyone know the protocol to go about doing this? Do I need to take my written and practical over or the whole class??
