Interested in furthering my education. I am a LPN working in the Jacksonville, Fl area. Have anyone recently graduated or heard anything about Jersey College or Keiser University. .... Pls give your opinion about both. I heard a lot of the hospitals here in Jacksonville, Fl don't hire nurses who graduate from Jersey because they are not accredited....do anyone know it's true??? I know Keiser is expensive but I want an education that I can work any where and move forward to BSN then MSN without any problems. Any info would be very appreciated .......

Hi shqueen!
Good luck on your search – we know it's not easy! I saw your post and thought I might be able to offer some insight on Jersey College:
1. Jersey College is accredited by the Council on Occupational Education, a national accrediting agency recognized by the US Department of Education. Here are some links for you to find more information: Jersey College Website, COE Website, US DOE Verification Website, Accreditation in the US
2. Although hiring decisions are up to each individual facility, and we can't guarantee obtaining a job after graudation, we have a number of graduates working in hospitals as RNs in the Jacksonville area. If you'd like to speak with Career Services during your admissions appointment, I'm sure we can set up a time.
3. Jersey College maintains articulation agreements with Walden, Grand Canyon, and American Sentinal to allow our graduates to continue their education. Here's more information: Affiliations | Jersey College

hi!
It is important to note that is historically advised by the Nursing College accreditation and the ANA that nurses attend a nationally NURSING accredited programs. There are many schools that are locally approved by the Board of Nursing of that state but there are no guarantees that another state will approve you to hold a license in that state... as far as they are concerned that school is unaccredited. It is also important that some masters and NP/CRNA schools require graduation from nationally nursing accredited programs.

I'm currently at Jersey College and the location I'm at is totally ridiculous. More than half of my class is failing and one instructor actually told a student to go to Concord if they didn't like it. Wow.
