Is 63% good enough on kaplan review test

Published

okay I took at kaplan test that had 180 questions and scored 63% is that okay or should I be scoring higher before I take nclex?

Hey everyone,

I just took my kap readiness today and got a 73%

I found (2) sample tests in the online Kaplan inside my Qbank folder. I took those before I took my

readiness test and got 62% and 52% (although on the 52% I managed to forget to answer 2 questions...so...

I was probably closer to 60.

I found the sample tests HARDER than the readiness test....Go Figure???

After taking the sample tests, I started using The Exam Cram CD that I had loaded. I did the (2) Pretest(s) in Pretest Mode and then I just did about 6-8 hours worth of (3) minute drills using adaptive mode.

When I sat down for my Kaplan Readiness today, I did much better from having used the Exam Cram to practice.

Hmmm...FYI...I also worked through the 1000 question Kaplan data bank...it took me forever...but I got through it.

I just started reading the Hurst Book, too. I'm not doing the online Hurst Review although I probably WOULD if I wasn't so darn ready to get my life back. I have not seen the gym in about a year...and I miss it!!I

I plan to take my boards around St.Patrick's Day...My late Dad's Birthday. He was in a fatal car accident last year...(during Nursing school). I almost gave up and dropped out. But, Ind rolled up my sleeves and somehow i'm still muddling through. I have been out of school a year...so ...I did not spring back quickly...but i'm still in the game and I pray that I pass the NCLEX beast.

If anyone has taken Kaplan ...I wonder....are the NCLEX style's similar? Are the question's on NCLEX as tricky

and hairsplitting as some of the ones in the test bank??

I'd love & appreciate some feedback on that if anyone has recently tested...

My final comment, is that ....IT TAKES A VILLAGE. I think each study resource seems to bring something valuable

to the table...from Random Facts on our messages boards, to Kaplan Strategy to down home Aunt Marlene

(who is hilarious ..lol...) at Hurst...I also give big nods of gratitude to Saunders for being Best All Around NClEX Study bible and I have read about fifty some odd pages from Fry's 3300 Nursing Bullet's...I will probably finish Fry's Bullets before I take boards, i'll probably do about 500 or 600 questions from Davis and La Charity and also

some from the New Lippincott Alternate Format. I went totally book crazy...and I also bought Nursing and Pharmacology Made Easy by Loretta Manning...and I love Mosby's Pharmacology Memory Notecards. I simply cannot read everything....but all I have mentioned are truly good and worthy...

I just wonder which question "style" will mimic NCLEX most closely. I guess i'll just have to close the books

and take the plunge. Best wishes and prayers to all of you testers. Trust me, If I can do it...you can do it..(so If I get through...i'll keep ya posted.) in the meantime...if anyone has any feedback i'd truly love to hear..

best wishes,

DeeDee

hi.

If u just read my longer-than-war-n-peace post, please forgive the typo regarding Exam Cram.

I did 6 to 8 hours of (30) minute drills...LOL...there are NO 3 MINUTE DRILLS..SORRY..my bad...

my typing is getting worse as the night turns to day...I plan to do all 3 passes of Exam Cram in the adaptive

mode and when it passes me to the 85%...i'll do a couple of Simulated Mode drills...after memorizing lab

values for the last 2 days and pouring through the entire Random thread...After doing ALL OF THAT...

i'll feel that I gave it 110% ...and in the end...I think that is what really counts. oh yes, and i'll say my prayers, too ..

i'll say some for me...and i'll be saying them for all of you...best wishes and good night!!!

qbank as of right now im averaged 60% but ive ansered all of the questions and im just repeating questions now most of them i dont remember the answers and im get 70-80% on them, some even ninety..but first time around I was getting mid 50's. This is actually goin to be my fourth time taking it, but my first time with kaplans, so im hoping and praying this helped. It definitely feels like it to me..Congratulations on passing! Cant wait for that to me!! I have been through so much since Ive graduated nursing school, unsuccessful 3 times with nclex, and studied soooo much with so many different reviews except for kaplans, they were really the only review that taught critical thinking....do the questions seem very similar to kaplans to you?

Solid scores megs21. Thank you. You'll feel so good when you pass. I thought the NCLEX questions were more straightforward and overall easier than Kaplans' questions.

In Kaplan class, our instructor gave us list of possible Readiness Test scores and the probability of passing the NCLEX with those scores. According to the list, you have a 94.1% chance of passing the NCLEX.

Hi there! Is it possible I can get a copy of the probability scores you received from your instructor? I know that would help a lot of people. I would like to know I have at least a 90% chance of passing NCLEX before I take it. Thanks!

I just joined On Demand today, and I am still kind of confused about some things?? When exactly should I take the diagnostic test, after I receive my book?? Help please! :uhoh3:

I got the same thing on the diagnostic and just took the boards and passed with 75 questions!!! Our kaplan instructor said if you got 65 or above on the diagnostic you don't need to be here. and if you got over 60 your good. I think you should schedule your test!!
