I am an LPN and so far enjoy it. Sometimes I don't feel as challenged as I would like to be. Several people have asked me if I think about going on for my RN. Truthfully, I am not in the mood for more school right now. But at the same time, I think about going back.
I read time and again how it is so hard for new RN grads to get a job.
So, is it still worth it? I don't need to be an unemployed RN with a bunch of student loans hanging over my head!

Pls take my advice with a grain of salt. I am a new RN, approaching my 1yr mark. I work at a small town for profit hospital where LPNs work on our floor. Most of my clinical time during nursing school was spent in large facilities whom no longer hire LPNs (they are phasing out LPN & ADN RN nurses currently). With that background...I would say RN is an investment in your future (depending on age, situation, and the multiple other factors of your life) you are the one who can most determine if it is the "right move" for you. I would assume your options and opportunities would greatly increase with your RN and since you have LPN experience you are not a typical new nurse...and do have valuable experience :) You know far more then a new grad!
Good luck with your decision :)
