Is the first semester the hardest?

My sister in law in failing nursing badly and our IQ is about the same.lol She is not going to go back after failing. It definitely intimidates me... So I was just wondering if it gets easier after the first semester or not? She tells me stories about how difficult it is and it's beginning to scare me. Maybe I shouldnt do nursing...

I think it depends on the school and curriculum.

Our first semester was easy. Fundamentals, easy basic CNA stuff.

2nd semester was killer. Adult health (6 credits) with clinical, patho, and pharm. we lost a lot of students that semester. Now in our third semester we are all breathing really easy. It's still hard work, just not as intense.
