That's the great thing about nursing school...you'll get to rotate all over the place so you can really find out what you like and what you don't. If you're anything like me...it changes every semester!! lol :chuckle
Whatever class I was taking, (mental health, labor/delivery, peds...etc) I found that that was for sure what I wanted to do! So now..I really don't know what I want to do. You just have to feel it all out before deciding for sure where you belong. Good luck with school.

Back in the old 'black and white' admnistration [Catholic nuns as nurses], the Sisters would tell you were they saw you making the best fit -- and that is where you did 75% of your clinicals. I was one of the lucky ones, I liked my assignment but there were other students that always got stuck somewhere they didn't want to be just because of the impressions the nuns got of their skills, dedication and 'ways of the world'
I was told after the first 6 weeks clinical rotation that I was going to hearts and I did every cardiovascular unit at every accuity level reaching the top CVIU/transplant center during the trialing of one of the Jarvic artifical hearts. For a graduation present, I got a produce box full of cabbages from all my class mates -- they knew I already had my career planned.
Twenty years later, I took a risk and came back to a general surgical unit to trying and remember all I ever knew from school. By being so focused just on the cardiac wards, I didn't get the full experience. If I had all to do over again, I would embrace each rotation as 'the' one forever. Don't just watch OB, jump in and act like a nurse training to work there fomorrow. Same with ER, throw yourself in and absorb as much of the admosphere as possible.
Once you are done with all the rotations, THEN decide the unit. Until then, love the one you're with!
