ITT Tech?
I was pretty well set on ITT tech but a few things have been bothering me. I was going to go ahead and have my fafsa sent to them but couldn't find their federal code. Then I came across this article that said that in california ITT tech got in trouble for "enhancing" student GPA to be eligible for financial aid, now I'm totally leery. I just don't understand if they do fin aid then why isn't there a school code?

ITT Tech?
Im not in the program but Steener is, I am about to apply. The HESI is the only entrance requirements. You can find the official test guide, its by evolve "Admission assessment exam review" From what I understand most ITT tech programs require you to take all the portions except the physics, but i think they go over that in the seminar.

ITT Tech?
What?! That doesn't make sense quarter credit hour system classes transfer to traditional colleges on a .67 basis meaning a 4 credit hour class at ITT would only transfer to a traditional college as 2.68 credit hours, so why are they making you test out when you have more than enough!!

ITT Tech?
Honestly, its your preference. I have spent the past 3 years building up classes to try and get in somewhere, but its SO competetive and I don't feel any closer than the day I started. I can't say whether I would have gone through all that trouble again, had I known about ITT tech sooner. But then again, I needed the refund I got each semester to help sustain because were a one income family with a small child so thats something to think about too (what are your needs?) At the end of this semester I will be able to work as an EMT so I can make enough to justify going back to work and paying for extra days that my daughter would be in daycare, but if it weren't for fin-aid refunds I wouldnt have been able to go this long. My point is, if you want to go that route you have a guarantee that your classes will transfer if you plan on getting your BSN, but if you dont forsee you going past ADN then by all means skip it and go straight in!!

ITT Tech?
Avasmommy, its all inclusive! But, like I said, theres positives and negatives to that.

ITT Tech?
Hey Steener, is the Hesi timed and is calculators allowed?

ITT Tech?
Avasmommy, this is what I know... Its an Associates degree that takes between 2- 2 1/2 years, yes they do financial aid and to cover the cost you will probably have to max out your stafford loans, and possibly take out personal (I think tuition depends on the area too). The down side though is you will have to hunt if you want to find a place that will take transfer credits for your basics you took during the nursing course. I have been taking mine at a CC so they will transfer into ITT and I don't have to worry about those classes once i'm done (not to mention its going to knock about 15k off my tuition).

How long do the semesters last there?

ITT Tech?
Ok, so I have read all seven pages of this thread, hoping that I could get a little insight into the ITT Nursing program and I have to say that there are WAY too many people on here with completely uncalled for comments. If you haven't gone through the program, and have no real insight, why are you posting here? ... But enough on that... In 2009 Oklahoma got 2 new ADN programs through ITT tech, one in OKC and one in Tulsa. Currently OKC cannot admit new students until it changes some of its curriculum so I am looking into the Tulsa program. I have spent the past three years building up prereqs for nursing (both adn prereqs and some that apply to bsn). I have researched almost EVERY NURSING PROGRAM IN THE STATE.... LITERALLY!! After talking to several students who have said that even after they acquired all their prereqs they still could not get in, I decided that maybe I should try other avenues. So this semester I am taking EMT-B and in the event that I don't pass the HESI, I will bridge paramedic-RN. I would really like some input on the ITT tech program from actual students, especially if you are in the Tulsa ITT Tech program. Thanks!

LPN program entrance interview
So I am starting to prepare for the entrance interview for an LPN program and I was going over some general questions they ask and I'm a little caught up over one. When they ask strengths and weaknesses in an interview for the school would you give the same s/w as you would for a job interview or should they be more geared towards your academic tendencies? I don't know why but am totally lost on this one, everything I seem to think of sounds like something thats been said a million times before.

OCCC Applications
I want to apply to OCCC's traditional RN program in the spring but I'm wondering if the courses I take in the spring will be considered. I noticed that the app deadline in generally in april, so at the end of the semester do we also submit an updated transcript? Anyone who knows how that all works please let me know.

OK salary and cost of living
I just wanted to add that if your going to move from CA to OK then definately move to the Tulsa area. Live on the outskirts (bixby, glenpool, or JENKS) I lived in Glenpool and paid only 600 for a nice THREE bed apt. You will get much more for your money living in one of those towns and its only a stones throw from Tulsa. Take it from me who has lived ALL over oklahoma!
