Is it too Early to study for the Pax?

Hello! I'm a pre-nursing student, getting ready to start my pre-reqs. I know my scores on the Pax will determine whether or not I get accepted into my schools nursing program. I have been out of school for about 15 years now. I am not too worried about my pre-req classes, I always did well in school. (Not to say I am not going to take them seriously!)

Looking into, and reading peoples experiences, has got me wondering though, is it too early to prepare? I know the test is super important, and a lot of people seem to have struggled with it. I was thinking about ordering some study guides and practice tests. On one hand, I figure the more time I have to practice, the more prepared and comortable I will be, but I do wonder if I am going to much too soon.

As for pre-reqs, I have 3 semesters worth (one of them being Summer semester), only because I can't take my sciences concurrently (Chemistry, A&P and Advanced A&P). I hope to be accepted into Core Nursing in Spring of 2017, which means I have to petition Fall of '16, with my Pax passed. I would (in a perfect world) take the Pax in April, which would give me the 4 months in between if I didn't pass the first time.

Any info, opinions, study advice is welcome! Thanks in advance!

It's never too early. At worst, you'll be over-prepared.
