Is De Los Santos-STI a good nursing school?

What do you think? Thanks for the comments :)

I don't think that the commercial is related to Delos Santos School. The school of Nursing of delos santos has been established years before they have this joint partnership for STI and I guess if STI has a nursing school, they should have commercialized "DLS-STI" instead of "STI" itself. Besides, why would IT students would go to DLS-STI knowing that the school offers nursing instead of IT and why would nursing students prefer studying in DLS-STI intead of STI college itself. Its just my predicament since I have no idea of the school.

Lastly, it realy depends on the student on how she/he performs in his academics. Schools are just to support students but we must rely to ourselves if we want to be successful in our carreer.

The top 5 from the June 2007 NLE came from that school so I guess it doesn't really matter from what institution you came from so long as you strive hard as a student and as a future nurse. Right miss_anthrope? :lol2:;):uhoh3:

the Best School is Yourself...goodluck to you!!!

Sorry if I judge other schools but I know others may agree on what I have to say. When you enroll on a IT school, they specialized on this field and other courses are just added ingredients. Now, if they open nursing, ask yourself what this IT school knows about nursing. Look at their board rating and ask other students' opinion that had gone there... At least you can assess what your getting yourself into...

Hi lenjoy! I'm sorry but I really have to disagree on this one. Let me just clarify that DLS-STI is NOT an IT school. STI just bought shares and infused some capital recently to the De Los Santos Medical Center and its educational institution, the former De Los Santos College. The hospital and school had been experiencing money problems previously due to mismanagement, and so they sold some shares to STI to gain more capitalization. Thus, the change of the names of both the hospital and the school to De Los Santos - STI.

And just to let everyone know, DLS-STI doesn't even offer a single IT course!!!

De Los Santos College has been in existence for about 30 years now and it has graduated many nurses and physical therapists since then. It has also produced topnotchers. The people who run the school are members of the nursing academe and not IT professionals. It's definitely not an IT school posing as medical school, contrary to other people's opinion. I should know coz i'm a graduate of that school. Though I admit that it's not really up there in the same league as UP and UST and, in fact, we are even quite struggling with our passing rates, I can say that DLS is your average nursing school in the Philippines.

To anyone who aspire for good education, its not on the school but really more on the student. I know a lot of people would like to debate on that but let me tell you about my experience. My first nursing school was actually not really DLS-STI. I was first enrolled in a top performing school (they ranked #1 last June 07 boards- 300+ students category), but I stayed there only for 1 semester because I had bad experience with the people who run it. So i transferred to DLS-STI, in spite of the reward of academic scholarship the other school gave me for doing well in my first sem there. And i never regretted that decision - coz i'm an RN now and i think i turned out just fine.

I graduated from the former De los Santos College and I'm doing pretty good working as an RN here in California. No complaints. De los Santos College the basics in nursing but I branched out when I started working as an RN here in the states. In fact, I even acquired another degree here. :nuke:
