Is city and guilds nursing qualification recognized in canada?

Published

Please answer. I need to know if i can upgrade to bsn with it at level 2?

Just a couple of thing. The average Cdn. nurse hasn't got a clue what you're talking about.

Are you a registerd nurse or one of the few enrolled nurses?

Find out by contacting the provincial college of nurses in the province you want to relocate to if they even recognize your qualifications.

Specializes in Medical and general practice now LTC.

OK you need to be a bit clearer on where you are and what level are you?

As mentioned in previous post only way to find out is to go through the provincial college and be assessed

i am at level 2

Specializes in Medical and general practice now LTC.

But what we are asking is what is city and guilds nursing qualification? Is it RN or LPN and for what country?

End decision is the the college of the province you are applying to

its a lpn and am from jamaica

Karalee...a city and guilds would not qualify you as a lpn in Canada, you would pretty much be closet to a health care aide. I heard Norquest college from alberta is offering the LPN program in Jamaica, is that where you graduated from? pm me if that is the case.

fyi...a city and guilds is the British equivalent to an apprenticeship type of training and certification.

yes am from jamaica

Specializes in Medical and general practice now LTC.
pm me if that is the case.

Member will need 15 or more posts to be able to send a pm, you may need to get in touch with them via pm

Karlalee, which school did you go to for your training? The reason why im asking is because if you have the norquest training then you would have the same training as an Alberta LPN. maybe get in contact with the CLPNA and have your qualifications assessed. If you qualify then you can register for athabasca university's lpn-bn degree. Im not sure how you would go about doing clinicals though
