Is a baby nurse a registered nurse? Thanks in advance :)

Just another case of someone referring to themselves as a nurse when they're not!! Grrr...

Specializes in Surgery, Tele, OB, Peds,ED-True Float RN.

Our L&D nurses rotate from "Case Room Nurse", the RN who us taking care of the woman while delivering. The "Baby Nurse", who receives the baby as soon as they are delivered (usually whoever is working in the nursery that day.) And "Charge", who takes care of antenatal, postpartum and triage patients. And we all share the gyne patients. We don't have separate units for all this... it's all on the same unit, Women's Health! We also don't have any LPN's working OBS in our hospital.

I saw this ad that said to call them if you want a baby nurse, nanny, housekeeper, etc. & I wanted to know if they were registered nurses because I'm looking for a job & baby nurse sounds great. But now I don't think they are actually nurses.
