Is Aspen University Accredited in MA?

Hello All,

I have been accepted to Aspen University's RN to BSN program. It is CCNE accredited, but not regional. My question is; are there anyone out there that have completed the program that resides in Massachusetts? if so, where you able to transfer any of the classes to another University?

I have read a few threads from people from other states that were all great/positive, however, MA can be a little more challenging when it comes to accepting out of state online degrees.

Thank you in advance

Hi,

I would suggest that you inquire at a couple of local grad schools to see if they would accept any classes from Aspen University. I did receive my MSN from Aspen and live in Massachusetts, but I have not tried to transfer any courses. I will say that the experience and the education that i received from Aspen University was outstanding, and recommend their programs highly.

Thank you so much. I keep reading positive reviews about Aspen, and so far communication with them has been great! I've decided to go with them; worst case scenario I'll do the MSN through them. Thank you again.

Hi, I am from MA and have been attending Aspen University for my MSN. I did transfer in credits without a problem. If I were you, I would continue my education through Aspen. I have found the university and professors are supportive and are with you every step of the way. I have researched MSN programs in MA but have found the price and academics at Aspen University to be exemplary. The experience at Aspen university has been excellent! Good luck in your program! You will not be disappointed.

Aspen University: For-profit, non-competitive post secondary school. Accreditation aside, I would ask them why their stock price (ASPU) has fallen from $4.00 per share in 2013 to15 cent as of today. Their financial well-being could have a bearing on your long-term graduation prospects. I will bet you dollars to donuts that not one of the previous posters knows about this.

Maybe it has something to do with their ubiquitous marketing presence on the web. (collegescorecard.ed.gov) has a little information on them but when evaluating a school an objective analysis from various perspectives is always in your best interests. And that's what ultimately counts.

Thank you for sharing. I must say I honestly was not thinking about their stock price, as I think most institutions go into business to make money, unless they are a charitable one. I have a crazy hectic life with an Autistic child and just wanted to know if this school was a good fit in terms of accreditation, cost, and resources. So far that seem to be the case, but I guess I really won't know until I have completed it myself. Keep up the good work and thank you again for sharing.

Hello there,

Aspen University is DEAC and CCNE accredited... I attended AIC in MA and had no trouble transferring credits, Etc. AIC is also CCNE accredited and was ranked as one of the best Nursing Programs in New England. However, YOU have made a great decision to enroll in Aspen, their programs are second to none. Support, ease of online program use and payment options make this a superior choice if not the best. I would highly encourage you once you are done with you current studies at Aspen to obtain your MSN at Aspen University as well. I am currently in the process of obtaining my MSN-BA through Aspen and couldn't be happier with the support/availability from all the staff/professors and their accommodating schedule. I have recommended Aspen to everyone who is looking to obtain additional degrees and or build on their current ones. I am sure you are not disappointed and won't be in the future. Wishing you the best.

Phoenix did you start your MSN with Aspen yet ? If so how is it going. I am an ADN and considering taking my RN BSN then MSN Ed with Aspen. I think as long as they are CCNE accredited it should be good.

Umm Should I be worried about Aspen accreditation, I wonder.

9hojo,

So far my program is going great; I started in August and will finish my fifth class this December. You are in control of your finishing time to an extent. Initially, you will be limited to do just the writing class which is one of the ten nursing classes required, after that you can speak with your advisor and request they increase the amount of classes you can do at once. I am currently enrolled in four classes. I work full time, and have an autistic toddler so it can be done. If I did not have to do a few liberal arts course, I would be able to finish the program by June of next year. It is a great program, and the payment plan makes it stress free, that is until you need to graduate. It does make sense that you will need to make your payments before you are able to get your degree.

By the way I am doing the BSN not the MSN; that will come immediately after I have completed this.

Since I started this year I have met a few people who have earned their MSN through them and have no problem transferring to local universities in MA. The final decision is yours, but I have to say that I am very pleased with my decision to attend.
