Is anyone getting ready to take the CNA class in Knoxville?

Published

Hello! I am new to this site. I am looking to take the CNA class in Knoxville and I am trying to decide between the Red Cross or the TN Technology course. Is anyone else preparing to take this class at either of these locations any time soon?

Thanks!:D

just a friendly staff reminder....

please do not post instructor names on the public board as it is a violation of the terms of service of this site. the tos state:

no potentially libelous information about specific schools, instructors, or health care facilities/entities should be posted in these forums. while it is important to be able to network, everyone should be mindful of the following:

  1. it is a small world - when we narrow it down to a state and throw in some personal info, there is actually a pretty good chance someone may recognize you if you are not careful. your privacy is paramount to us.
  2. while allnurses.com is a wonderful place to vent (without excess personally identifiable details) it is not the place to express why ("x" specific person, place or program) is terrible. gripe away, but since we cannot permit allegations to be made about named entities, your care in not naming them is very much appreciated.
  3. please do not give out personal information about others. do not name names where anyone could identify the person in any facility including your nursing programs.

thanks for understanding.

go vols!!!!!!!!

I just called the TN Tech school and there full til May. I was also thinking of taking the Course from the Red Cross but my thought is, on a resume what would look better. And I believe the Red Cross Course is just a tad bit more expensive from what Ive heard. So I'm kinda in the same boat as you.

When I took the Red Cross course in 2003 it cost 800.00, but I got hired for a job before I finished, because of the reputation of the quality of the course done through the Red Cross, so I thought it was worth it for me.:yeah:

I am starting the CNA class in Knoxville at the American Red Cross on the 15th of March, in 11 days...

Specializes in CNA/ ALF & Hospital.

I took my CNA with Red Cross in Brandon, Florida in 2002 and it took me 3 tries before I finally passed. I worked at Oaks of Clearwater Assisted Living in Clearwater; Brandon Regional Hospital in Brandon,FL. and Delaney Creek ALF in Brandon, FL. I am now working onmy reciprocity to move my CNA to Tennessee for Georgia. I am orininally from Tennessee and I AM SO HOMESICK, that I can't stand it. I went to HS @ Mount Pisgah Christian Academy in 1986. I am taking my written exam on the 22nd. of October @ NHC-Chattanooga.:yeah::nurse: :dncgbby

i am curently attending the red cross knoxville chapter night class. and the teacher is very scater brained and we have had some problem with her sleeping with a student which she also did in her last class and thier is extream favortism. however they do cover ALOT in the class and she generaly help everyone as much as possible as long as shes not in a bad mood. shes late often and rights you up when your late. and she dislikes smokers alot and descrminates against over wieght ppl being cnas cuz thier setting a bad example. but in the end if i had to do it all over i would. also the class size is like 27 students with one instructor and 4 hours of class a day.

Congrats on passing your course. Can you advise me how many days a week school was and the hours you attended. Is it just day or do they have a night program? I want to work as a CNA while I go take the course. I took a CNA course here in Oklahoma but I realize that I will have to pay $400 to transfer my license and I may as well just take another course and save the $400.

Thanks
