I am so very interested in taking my last prereqs (micro, physiology) online just because I have a 3 yr old, I have to work, and no time to go on campus! If there is someone out there that has done this PLEASE help me!!! I would really appreciate it!!!

I don't know of any California programs that will accept online Mico, Anatomy or Physiology since they all have to have a lab component here. Think its a state requirement.Good luck

Just thinking maybe someone would no of some kind of class but I am about to just pull all of my hair out!!! Just so stressed over this whole situation! Thanks for the well wishes!!!

I took A and P 1 and 2 online with Clovis in New Mexico. They were 4 units each with labs. This is what shows on the transcripts. These were accepted by all of the southern california community college programs I have applied to. I just attached a copy of the class discriptions. Good luck to you.

Thanks for the info. I will be definitely contacting Clovis. I just wanted to know if someone actually did this option and everything came out ok. Again, thank you!

I was wondering if you had any luck with the online classes? I know university of phoenix has them, but I have been thinking the same thing you have! I just want to get it done with....

OP, please check with the schools you are planning to apply to, to ensure they will accept online lectures and labs for science pre-reqs. I live in Sacramento and none of the schools I am applying to allow online labs. Not sure where you are but double check! Good luck!

I live in the east bay, so not to far from you. I've read that some people have gotten in to courses even though they say they don't accept online sciences because the classes come up just the names and you can attach the course description with it...

Hi there- I can't speak for every college as they all have various protocol. I do know that all courses must have a lab component. I have applied to a couple of schools of which are accepting my courses. I took A and P 1 and 2 with labs with straighterline (make sure you check ahead of time on this one as some schools will not accept them) I am currently taking micro with lab through edukan.org. I enrolled with Pratt Community College for my FAFSA and my transcripts will come from Pratt which is regionally accredited. I hope this helps. Again- always check with the school first to verify that they will accept your specific transfers:-)

As long as the course descriptions are acceptable to the college and your transcripts match the acceptable course description, I guess you wouldn't have a problem. I would look into making sure the "course of studies" for the classes as well are acceptable as well.

When I was getting my classes approved through American River College the counselor requested a course of study, which is like a syllabus for the course in general. So it's not specified per class with teacher expectations, it just breaks down what the course is and what the learning objective are. The reason he did this was because he wanted to make sure the labs I took were in the same format at their allied health classes. For example, we dissected a cat in my anatomy and physiology labs and so did they so he knew it was the same type of lab. Do you know how the online anatomy and physiology class you want to take works? Will you have to dissect some sort of animal?

Make sure all your bases are covered before you invest the time and money into a class. Any school can not approve any class they don't have an agreement with for any reason. It happened to me. CSU sacramento, American River College, Sacramento City College and Solano Community College all approved my classes from Virginia but Sierra college had a problem with my Micro and Nutrition classes. They didn't give me a reason, just said no and honestly, they have that right.
