Hi,
Is there anyone else who has applied to the Cal State Fullerton Entry Level - MSN program for this fall. I haven't heard anything from them.

I heard from them a few days ago about interviews...have you heard anything yet?
I received an e-mail yesterday inviting me to interview in a few weeks. The message said that they would accept 60-65 students. I wonder how many applicants they invited to interview. I think that I will call or write to them tomorrow to find out. My date is March 20. When is yours? I wish you all the luck in the world.
Kathy
My interview is on March 20th from 8:30 - 12:00. Last year I think CSUF interviewed a little over 120 people but I am not positive. I got my undergraduate degree from CSUF and I know they have an excellent nursing program, and I have heard great things from current EL MSN students. I also saw you are waiting to hear from UCLA...me too. Hopefully we will find out from them tomorrow. Good luck to you too...maybe I will see you on the 20th.
Yes, I hope to see you. I hope that we both get into both CSUF and UCLA and end up in the same cohort together. Let's keep our fingers crossed. I went to undergrad at UCLA and loved the school. I am dying to get back. The only problem is that I live in Irvine and Fullerton would be a lot easier to get to. These two are my only remaining masters entry programs. I have already been turned down by two others. I have also applied to CSUN's accelerated BSN program, although the commute would be a lot worse. My name is Kathy by the way. Good luck tomorrow.

I also applied to both UCLA and CSUF for Fall'08. I was accepted to CSUF for Fall07 but due to family circumstances, I didn't take my seat. I do remember how the interviews were structured though. See you guys at the interview tomorrow!
GOOD LUCK!!!

Hi Caligurl,
I saw your post in the UCLA program that you had been accepted, but were thinking about declining? Have you been accepted somewhere else or do you think that the CSUF program is better?
What did you all think of the interview this morning? I went in feeling very nervous thinking that it was a make-or-break situation. I was reminded that the interview was just one element of the entire scoring process, so everyone was in a differerent situation this morning. I am really, really hoping that I get into this program. I have already been rejected by UCLA.
This is rather a late time to ask this question, but is this program like some of the other programs where you take enough classes to pass the NCLEX and then go to school part-time while you work as an RN?

Hi Kathliz,
Hope you did well at the interview. I was nervous at first, but I think it ended up going nicely. Everyone in my group was friendly and I hope we all get in. Dr. Wickman was very sympathetic and was clearly not trying to intimidate us. How did yours go?
In answer to your question regarding working after the NCLEX, you do 18 months of study, take the NCLEX, then take the graduate portion of the classes/clinicals. From what it seems like, many of the students do work during the final 18 months.
Maybe I'll see you in the fall! Hope so!

Were you in Dr. Wickman's interview group? I was in her group. I'm Kathleen.
In looking at the number of units for the graduate portion of the program it is almost the same as the pre-licensure portion. I can go 18 months without an income, but I don't think that I can go three years though. In most of the masters entry programs that I have seen the first year or so is all classroom and clinical and then you take your NCLEX. Then you are expected to work as an RN while you finish the degree program.
I wish you a lot of luck in getting in.
I was in her group the day before you. I agree, I will def. have to work at least my last 18 months. It seems like a fair amount of students work part time the first half of the program too, although I think I will play that by ear.
Lotsa luck to you too!

Hi, I was reading your posts about UCLA and I have applied to their EL MSN program for NP. I haven't heard yet and I was just wondering if you had heard anything back from them? I'm getting frustrated! Any info you have would be great! Thanks.
