Is Adnormal Psych worth taking??

Hi,

I had signed up to take Adnormal Psych over the summer b/c one of the schools I applied to required it. I won't be going to that school however. My question for those of you who are in nursing school or recently graduated: Would you recommend taking this course? I'm not drawn to the material, and would only take it if it gives a significant "leg up" in the psych clinical rotation.

Thx,

sounds like a waste of time and money to me. You will get all the psych you need in the nursing school course. If you decide to become a psych nurse you will learn more specifics later when you begin practicing. If you are looking for an elective you might consider chemistry, biology, medical terminiology, math---things you will use often. IMHO

I enjoyed ab psych and it turns out that they are counting it as my elective for the nursing program, but I wouldn't have taken it if I didn't need it for some reason. (I took it for my first degree.) Way too much other stuff I can be doing! If you are planning to be a psych nurse you may enjoy it but I still agree that you'll get what you need in the program/training.
