I said in a previous post how I just "tell them"" when I will be off...maybe this should be under "hospice burnout", anywhoo...
as of Thursday morning at 2:30am; I've worked 33 hours...We just got certified by the state on thursday and I was told i would have to "readmit" all my patients (7 folks at the time), so I had them sign all legals, (I haven't even touched careplans and other documents that don't require med directors or MD signatures--essentially I completed the essentials) but I've worked my orifice off patient care wise...i was on call all easter weekend, had a man die monday morning at 4:15, had another die yesterday at 4pm, had a pt in distress last night (hence my being out til 2:30am)....and my administrator calls this am to say "corporate will be at the office in the morning so if you can get those charts done"....When have I had the time? I'm just irritated, oh, and by the way administrator said "i won't be in the office today," well guess what sister, "neither will I".
I am seriously irritated. I am the only full time nurse and I'm working more than full time in the last couple of weeks. My administrator won't take call (she said she isn't allowed), and the other prn nurses only take 3-5 shifts a month, that leaves ME..... I'm just super tired. I want a raise and I want some sleep.

Where at in Georgia-so I never apply there. Sorry, wishing you the best.
one of my coworkers called me today, and she feels the same way...
When we are not busy, it's great...you can chart and cross t's and dod i's, but when it's crazy, and we don't have the staff, it's insane.
still, the worst day in hospice is better than any day in the hospital setting
