The time for reform is now. As discussed in detail in this article, if you are healthcare professional who is being unfairly treated by an impaired practitioner program (e.g., IPN or PRN), it is time to band to together to challenge the legality of the current impaired practitioner programs and to lobby for legislative change to address the unaccountable nature of these programs.

I couldn't get this to post as an article, so here is the link. It is from late 2021 but clearly, someone has noticed that there are issues (nay, an entire subscription) with IPN. Now, will anyone do anything about it?

I came across it in the process of searching for some dates regarding my nightmare experience with these people. I have been out of their clutches for 3 years, yet every time I try to put a foot forward (graduate school, travel assignment) this rears its ugly head and I have to explain. I self-reported and per a Florida Statute, that is supposed to keep it confidential. Well, my experience was that secondary to abject laziness, carelessness, and "it's not going to make us money so screw you" attitudes, I wound up with public discipline that keeps coming back like a zombie.

I was put through the wringer. I did what I was told, no matter how stupid and inappropriate it was. I paid out enough money for a down payment on a nice mansion in France and had my career nearly destroyed. Yet, I rose from the ashes like a phoenix and brushed off those clowns, 3 years ago. Yet, every. dang. time. I want to take a step forward, this garbage comes back. I had a therapist tell me that I was one of the worst cases of abuse by those people that he had ever seen.

Everything I have accomplished has been in spite of IPN, not because of it. My experience is why the reforms spoken of in this article need to happen. Post haste!

I am also facing IPN. Can anyone message me?  Need some advice.  I am not able to send messages on here yet.
