Please" HELP" I am an LPN and am under investigation because I did not sign some of my meds on the MAR, # 1 I was sick, flu symptoms, fever 102.6, they told me hang in there we are trying to get somebody to come and work your shift, nobody came ,everybody left, DON, Unit Managers, scheduler said sorry I triedto get somebody but no luck, just tried your best any way you are off tomorrow, I was dragging my self with every medpass, at 10:30pm the 3rd shift nurse came stated you look bad, lets count and get report so you can go home, we didit and left the next day DON call me and said you are under investigation because you forgget to signout some of your meds and treatments, then that night I went to urgent care because of the pain on my back Dx: UTI, and flu symptoms, 2 days later DON callme you are fired, because you were not compliance with signing all your meds, I stated, but I have the right to do late entrys, she said "nope "is already the 3rd day and you cannot do that, i m sorry but am going to report this to the state, state call me just last week that I was under investigation because of the report , my question what is going to happen to my license, do I need to report this to my new place where am working right now, what type of sanstions I may expect from state, if any body can help me with info, it will be appreciated, thankyou:mad:

i'd get a lawyer and sue the living daylites out of them. what a bunch of scum. they all knew you were sick but left you there anyway. do you realize the trouble you could make for them if you stated that info to the investigators? maybe they will be defending their licenses! and the facility's license. working a sick nurse, knowingly leaving her there while they left. of course, the investigator will say you should have just said "i'm sick and i have to leave" and not done any more work. and the investigator would be correct. i'm sure you've now figured this out. well, too late to change it now, but let it be a lesson for future use.

say nothing to anyone except a lawyer. why would you even think to tell your present job? or any so-called friends there? tell no one, not even family.

you might want to remind your betrayers that you were sick, that you sacrificed for them, that they deserted you, etc, and that you will have to tell this to the investigators when you get to make your defense.

also, let this be a lesson to you. never, never, never, and never do your bosses a favor like this ever again. they don't give a damn about you as a person, as i think you have now discovered. no boss does, unfortunately. bosses care about themselves. they care about the facility only the tiniest necessary amount and about the workers not an iota.

i hope things turn out ok for you.

from members reports like this, some employers are choosing to report nurses to bon that years ago would have been internal disciplinary actions with third strike your out.

personal professional nursing ~ $125.00/yr is so recommended as they would provide a lawyer to represent you in this type of case. if you have coverage, contact them immediately. otherwise seek legal counsel to protect your rights and follows members advice above by not discussing further on public bb.

your local bar association or the american association of nurse attorneys can provide you with names of lawyers with experience defending nurses against bon.
