Intravenous medications book

I was wondering how many of you needed to buy or have bought an Intravenous medications book and if you actuall USE it in clinicals or classes. I hate to buy this darn book if we never use it. Previous students said they really didn't use it, but I hate to need it and not have it. I wonder how useful it will be after graduation?? If anyone knows let me know!!

Sara-Yes, I have bought and used IV drug books after school. There is usually more detail about infusion rates and interactions, which I have found very helpful-especially when I worked med/surg. I think it was the Mosby book I liked best-now I don't have to buy it as it is now provided for us.

I don't have one but I think it's a good idea because it's crucial to know rate and compatibility with IV meds.

Im well past the student phase........... but I buy new drug books and new IV drug books every 3 yrs or so............ they are a TREMENDOUS help in school and out.

I have the Mosby IV medications book. It was an optional textbook for my Med-Surg clinical. I have to be honest--I never used it! I used my regular Mosby drug book for everything and had instruction from my teacher and other nurses for the rest. I never had a chance to use it, really. (I just finished med-surg and am on to maternity and peds, so we'll see if I use it this semester.)

I'm sure it will be something handy later on when I'm working on my own, but in that case I would wait and buy the newest edition then.
