I took the Kaplan class first but was frustrated by my low test scores (and i was a good student in school) on the question trainer exams. I then did Suzanne's program using Saunders. I used the Saunders book all throughout school. I found the NCLEX questions were much like the Kaplan questions and Saunders questions were easier for me. However, Saunders does give better rationales than Kaplan. I passed the exam with 75 questions on the first try --- I dont know which worked best, but I was happy I did both.

I have been working on the Saunders book and it is a good book but so far i am finding the questions, after reading each chapter, quite predictable. Are the Saunders test questions of the same level of difficulty as the NCLEX questions? i am concerned (maybe worried!) that this may not be the case. My percentages have been high and im wondering if this is really enough. A couple of threads have mentioned that the Kaplan questions give a more accurate picture of how prepared you are for the nclex and you have a greater chance of passing the NCLEX if you get through the kaplan questions. I really don't want to miss out on anything and at the same time i don't want to confuse and overwhelm myself with the ton of info and resources out there. Is saunders reeeaaally enough? And if saunders is enough ( in terms of how much one needs to know), how about specific and affordable books, stuff on the internet, cds you highly recommend that are all about the questions- to exercise test taking skills with emphasis on analytical and critical thinking? Thanx:)
