Interview this week I need some advice

Nurses New Nurse

This week I have two interviews and I beginning to get a little nervous! I got my license about 7 months ago and I have been working in Pediatric office since then. I sent out about 50 application and just last week I got a call from two hospitals for an interview. One where is where I did my preceptoring and another at a childrens hospital on the peds floor (which is my dream job :)). I am so nervous because I have not been in the hosptial setting since nursing school and I do not want that to be my downfall. What kind questions should I expect in the interview? I really want the job on the peds floor but considering the job market I refuse to be pickey and I will take anything.

Most interviews now a days are behavior based type questions. A lot of give me examples and stuff like that. I just got my license last week and already have a job lined up in the Neuro Critical Care. I am extremely excited to start. You can find wonderful example questions if you go to Google and type in behavior based interviewing. Best of luck to you, and you'll do great:)

Thanks so much I will google that now. I have two interviews this week, ill let you know how its goes:)

I just got a job on the peds unit! Anyway think of skills you have used since graduating, assessments or what not so you can focus on those, they ask a lot of "name a time you had to do team work" "name a time you had to adapt to change" " name a time you had to confront a co-worker or boss on a decision you didn't agree with" stuff like that. Then I had a lot of situational questions and what would I do like who would I see first and so on.
