is it wrong to try to ask to be reconsidered in a lpn program if you didn't do well on the inteview. my grandfather had a stroke a day before. and i think affected my interview. would it be wrong to ask to explain myself again. i had somethings going that week and i think it affected my interview. :(

How long ago was the interview? From the sound of it, the decision letters have already been sent.

the interview was 15 minutes. but i was worried about my grandfather.

the interview was wed sept 13 . she mailed a letter out by monday. they take 22 for each program. and on that day only 17 were there.

I had a very bad interview for my ADN program several years ago. The interviewer, one of the professors, was just plain obnoxious (wonder what was going on in her life that day?); she said a number of rude and unprofessional things to me, such as "I can tell by looking at you that you don't belong in this program." "I can tell you're one of those women with too much time and too much money on her hands just looking for something to do." (I had been a SAHM mom for several years). I went out in the parking lot and cried for a half hour.

I did send a letter the next day; I tried to be very professional but worded it very strongly that I felt the interviewer had been quite judgmental and laying out all the reasons why I thought I belonged in the program. I copied it to the interviewer, the director of the program, and the president of the college.

I was accepted into the program.

While our situations aren't the same, I think a letter telling them why you feel you're a good fit for their program, with a brief mention that your family was under a lot of stress that day so you're not sure you really "shined" in the interview, can't hurt. It may counteract any less than positve notation the interviewer might have made in your file.

Good luck!
