Interview of a nurse for paper

Published

Hi! I was hoping that I could find a nurse who would be willing to be in contact so that I could interview them for a paper I am doing for an Intro Kines class. I would very much appreciate anyone willing to help!

Specializes in Physiology, CM, consulting, nsg edu, LNC, COB.

I realize this was a very old request but I’m replying in the hopes that future students will read it.

This assignment is not just to see if you can cut and paste somebody’s answers to the questions you’ve doubtless been given to ask. It’s to give you an introduction to skills you will need AS A NURSE that you will start to practice as a student.

These  are:

finding resources in a more thoughtful way than merely going online and hitting “search”

learning where nurses work in far, far more places than you can name now

making appointments with working people

sitting down and interacting with strangers

having a conversation, not a transcription opportunity

You will find nurses working in state and city health departments, human services agencies, offices, clinics, faculties, and others. You don’t know who we are, whether we’re making up our experience to feel cool online, or what. Go find a real nurse in person. You’ll be very glad you did.

As long as OP doesn’t have the entitled mindset of expecting people to contact her. Hoping is fine, though, and in the times we live in, using the internet as one of your resources is fine. I wouldn’t mind exchanging information with nursing students and answering questions. Good advice about making sure they are indeed credentialed as they state. We can’t assume that the poster has not done these other things as well. Don’t get me wrong. I’ve seen the people who come here and think they are entitled to our time. This isn’t it. Nothing wrong with asking. Nurses like me could video chat with students and tell them all about home care for example. And communicate with nurses who are now taking caring of people post COVID in the home. It’s an area that needs recognition. IDK, I just don’t like discouraging respectfully asked questions.
