Interview with nurse manager was 10 minutes? good or bad?

Nurses Job Hunt

Published

I had interview with nurse manager that was 10 minutes long. I already knew her and she knew who I was because i did my senior preceptorship there. She asked basic easy nursing interview questions. None of the "what would you do" or "tell me a time when". She said I would hear by the end of the week. Do you think this was good or bad? I was not nervous at all, it went pretty fine. She remembered me and brought up how I knew this and that of the unit and how is hiring a few people.

I'm anxious to know!

My interview was only 10 mins too. The only questions asked were tell me about yourself and what would be your ideal work schedule. The rest of the time the DON just talked about the position and the facility and new changes. I was told that they are interviewing more people and have to figure out what shifts need covered and it would be in a couple weeks before I hear something. Exactly 2 weeks after my interview(this morning) I got the job offer for the ideal shift I mentioned. Although it is just a part time position, I will take anything because geriatrics is my passion and I can see myself working at that particular facility.

Anyway, you should follow up by sending a thank you letter and check in with the nurse manager after a week. Good luck! Hope you get an offer!!!
