I mentioned in another thread that I will be interviewing tomorrow with the district I live in! It is much bigger than the one I currently work in.
I've got a list of questions ready-- Just to make sure I have all my bases covered- do you guys have any questions you think I should ask??
So far I've got things like:
who is the direct supervisor?
Are there duties beyond student care and state reports? How are 504 meetings handled? Would I go as a building nurse or do the certified nurses attend?
Are there any standing orders?
Are there self contained classrooms?
Will I be required to sub at another building if there is a higher needs population there? How many of your buildings have permanent, full time nurses?
Will I be required to do vision/hearing at other schools?
Do the hours vary by building? What about staying late for unexpected issues?
Do nurses work on institute days? Doing what? Do you provide or reimburse for CEUs?
How many total working days are there? How many before and after the school year?
And then stuff about benefits, if we start down that path. What else would you ask about?
Thanks for the help!

Thanks! I'm a bit nervous now that it's close, but I'm pretty sure it's a move that I'd like to make. It's SOOOOOOOO much closer- 3.5 miles from my house instead of a 44 mile round trip now! I'll save the pay cut in gas alone! And being a bigger district, there is more room to advance into supervisory roles (which I would like).
