Interview for home health- what questions to ask

Hi all. I am a long time member- just haven't done much posting in a while. I have been an LPN for almost 15 years and have recently become very interested in Home Health. I have done pretty much every other type of nursing except Home Health. I have an interview on Wednesday for a Home Health position that I very much want to do well on. I have researched the company and have heard good things. Here's my problem- I'm not sure what kind of questions I should ask at the interview. I know the general things to ask about, but I'm not sure about what specifics to ask about. From those of you who are working or have worked home health, what in your opinion makes one organization better than another? Are you content as a Home Health nurse, what makes it better than other kinds of nursing in your opinion? I have read some of the threads on a typical day in Home Health and they have been great- very informative for a newbie in the field. I guess I am also looking for realistic views on what home health is really like- the good and the bad. Thanks again to anyone who took the time to read all of this and respond- sorry so rambling.... too many thoughts running through my mind at one time !!

I would definitely ask about the weekend/holiday/on call schedule. That will vary depending on the size of the agency and the number of nurses. Also, how many patients will you be seeing a day? Will there be time for charting? Do they offer mileage reimbursement? Where is my territory? How often will I be sent out of my territory? Who will I go to for clinical support? Are the nurses readily available and willing to help? What type of patients (age, severity, etc) will I be seeing? What about supplies for the patients, how easy is it to get them? Does every supply need to be ordered or is there emergency stock in the office? What about dress code? Thats all I can think of for now. Good Luck!

Thanks Paradisebound RN! Actually I already had my interview and was offered the position, but I really appreciate you responding.
