I have an interview for a per-diem job at the hospital I currently work at. I currently work on one of the M/S floors (not my full time job).
The unit is the prep and recovery area for the cath lab and also deal with vascular/renal patients (I guess those getting fistulas or ports put in). The ratio is 1:3-4. There are 40 beds total.
I'm looking to get an idea of the scope of patients seen and how long patients stay in this type of area.
I'm looking forward to being completely away from traditional floor nursing (m/s, tele, SD).
If you work in this type of environment - How much recovering do you? Do you ever float to PACU? What type of patients do you see?
If I get the job and like it, maybe I will go there full time one day.
