I know I'm super late on this internship thing.. I didn't know until a few weeks ago you had to apply for them so early in advance! But anyways.. Does anyone know of any hospitals that still offer summer internships as of now? I'm from Tennessee but I would really like to have one in Pennsylvania! Anywhere in the country though would be nice. Just let me know!! :)

I think your best bet is to check hospital websites. You can go to the education section and get internship information, or at least contact information that you can call/email to inquire about internships. My school requires an internship so they help us find placement, thankfully.

Main line health, penn hospital, lehigh valley hospital, chop, lots look in the Philly area

A couple of months in advance is not "so early" in application for anything.

I hope you find something but I'd not be making plans for a summer internship at this point.

The research is good, though, because you'll be all set to apply for next summer.

Well i can tell you to look into your own area of the country. People always want to go somewhere new, but you need to realize, most summer internships are looking for people to work the summer, the fall, the winter, the spring. They would usually take a year round part time person over someone who can work just the summer. Training those workers isnt easy, so they will take long term over temporary. Not to say you cant get those jobs, but im telling you most will ask your availability over the fall, winter, and spring. Im sure there are some for just the summer, but the ones ive seen for temporary just over the summer are more of unpaid positions.

Thomas Jefferson Hospital in Philadelphia offers externships year-round or whenever a position opens- it's not limited to just the summer.

A lot of the posters are suggesting hospitals that have relationships and have preference with area nursing schools, so you do need the availability of working year round. Most likely their summer internship candidates are about to start the externship program. There may be a few that are still looking for fall candidates, but they usually like to keep the ones from the summer internship.

Start from your area first, and go from there...check other areas of PA as well...good luck!

It is not in tennessee or pennsylvania... but the Mayo Clinic in Scottsdale, Arizona has a great internship program. Have not done it but I have heard only amazing things. It is 8 weeks in the summer and paid! I believe you apply in the winter/spring for it. good luck!
