Hello everyone, I would like to ask what is really Visa Screen Certification? What is it for? Is this for the purpose of getting a working visa? Thanks a lot for the help!

Hi. I don't know if I'm butting in, but I graduate from nursing school this December (in California). I was told that we should be able to sit for the boards (NCLEX-RN) around February of 07. When would be the best/earliest time for me to apply for a Visa Screen certificate? I have received all my college education (as well as high school and etc.) in California.

What type of visa do you have? If you have a green card already, then you do not need the VSC. It is only for those that will be applying for a green card on their own.

Another thing for you, if you went to school in CA, then you will be able to sit for the exam earlier, CA BRN will permit you to sit for the exam before they actually have received your transcripts, as long as you are on the listt that the school submits to the BRN that you are exoected to pass, you will be able to test in January, or possibly earlier. CA is the only state that permits this. That is why there is no early notification of passing, they do not list your name until they have a completed file on you.

Yes, I am aware of that. And I am neither.

Just read your post above? What type of visa are you currently on? That is going to be a bigger problem for you, without being current, you are in a pickle right now for being out of status, if you are not a US citizen and not on one of the above visas. The only other thing is if you have been on a student visa all of this time on your own, do not see much of that anymore.

Can you perhaps be a little more specific? Do you have a SSN#? We are happy to answer questions but this is not like guessing "What's My Line."
