Go visit THE PEAK,wax museum,CAUSEWAYBAY.MONgkok, electronics ave, ladies market,Toys r US,and of course "the different alley or side small side road where they sell cheap products. But you will be surprised....goods here in divisoria and greenhills is a lot cheaper.Bring extra water as bottled water is expensive in Hongkong.A decent meal will cost you around $HK 17 .And theres a mall there where Filipinos hang out...theres "pasa load"sari sari stores, celfones,LBC

There dont serve rice at MCDONALDS, NO gravy for KFC chicken..only on mashed potato.(they provide you with disposable plastic gloves while you eat),and most people eat there by the bucket!!!geezz..The COKE in can looks peculiar. And their ice blocks are small(like mini marbles)unlike here where they are shaped like tubes.

The hotel will ask for your credit card and swipe it as

sort of a deposit for any damage you might incur but they will not let you sign it... as soon you check out they will cut/tear the receipt in front of you.I stayed with Guandong Hotel....no regrets..goodluck to us

I plan of staying out of restaurants which offer unfamiliar dishes for I don't want to ruin the whole purpose of my stay there, not until after the exam. I want to avoid GI as much as possible and I bet you'll agree with me. :nuke:

After the test, I hope to visit those scenic spots where HK if famous til I drop. Once I complete my bookings at HotelTravel, I'll definitely draft my itinerary and I will definitely not stay long in one place since I ain't gonna be there that long. So I have to squeeze the time and spread them as much as I could.

I was assured by HotelTravel that your chosen Hotel will no longer require you any deposit or credit card once you have paid your reservations with them. You will just have to print out the confirmation letter for the hotel representatives and they will honor that, not unless you have consumed some goodies inside the hotel with price tags after you stay, then you will be charged separately.

So just a reminder, before you take away something inside your room, whether its food, beverages, etc., make sure you check any tags attached.

finally decided to go with metropark hotel causeway bay hong kong and booked at hoteltravel a standard harbourview room for as low as us$256 (3d/2n) inclusive of all charges. just waiting for my hotel confirmation before they charge me which usually takes max of 48hrs.

http://www.metroparkhotel.com/

what made me pick the place is the proximity of the hotel to the mtr, which is 5 stations away from the grand millennium hotel in sheung wang district with a travel time of 10 mins. only. as they say, the test center is most accessible via the mtr. also, not too expensive and offers the best amenities a tourist flying under a low budget could afford. it took me at least 2 weeks just to research and compare different hotels.

at asiarooms.com, rate is at us$512++ for the same hotel.

whatever hotel you stay in, its best that you read reviews generally available at most online hotel reservation sites as much as possible. this will give you an idea what to expect of the place, customers view and complaints, etc.

can't wait for my reservation to get approved.
