yes, im a green card holder

What state did you get your RN license from?

That's the state you should actively look for a job, otherwise, you'll have to probably endorse to another state you prefer, but that means basically you'll be applying again as a new international grad as if taking the exam over again (without actually having to re-take the actual exam, just the passing and gathering of your transcripts for review) and possibly having to take any required English proficiency exams and submission of new application fees. This also known as meeting that new state's foreign applicant requirements and some state now require that you provide them with your country's nursing license.

Job-wise, if you have 2 year's minimum of paid nursing experience and its a specialized field, that may help in getting an interview and possible sponsorship from certain hospitals, but just know they are few and far in between.

You can look thru the other comments posted by others in the Michigan nursing forum. If you have some paid hospital experience from the PH that will help. You can try to apply online to various places, like nursing homes, LTC, SNF, private care giver, as some of these may or may not require some experience. If you desire a hospital job, the chances are much slimmer due to competition from the local residents.

I take it you already have a SS# as it will be required to be hired by any legit employer.
