Hello Everyone

Just want to give you an update of my journey to my Registered Nurse dream, through International College of Health Sciences (ICHS). If you read my previous post dated May 13, 2019. I started attending to this school last June 2019 took Anatomy, Physiology and Microbiology with laboratories. I completed all my pre-requisites September 30, 2019. Because I am a working LVN took the gap test, unfortunately they did not show my test-result. I was told to take Pharmacology, Psychiatric in Nursing with clinical and Medical Surgical 1 with clinical. Thanks God I made it pass the theory and clinical. My very first clinical in Florida last December 1- 13, 2019. I spend 10 days clinical x 12hrs a day,  and 1 day off. Came back to California. I was scheduled to come back for next clinical sometime on April for Medsurge - 2 and Maternal, Pediatric, but did not happen because of the pandemic. I was lucky, I was offered to take an accelerated program. I am blessed to passed the accelerated program which means I don't have to take Medsurg-2. Which brings me to Nursing capstone VATI. Passed the greenlight and able to take (CFPE) Comprehensive Final Program Exam last July 18, 2020 and PASSED with 94% score 99% probability of passing NCLEX.

I decided to register in Florida board of nursing because I heard it is faster. You can also register your paper in California board of nursing and take the board in California-NCLEX-RN but it may take too long, specially pandemic, some people are working from home. Although I registered as a Florida graduate I took the NCLEX here in California or you can take anywhere you want. I graduated July 18, 2020 received my (ATT) authorization to take the test Sept 6, 2020. I went to Pearson Vue website right away and scheduled my exam but there was no available date on the whole month of Sept. So I picked October 15, 2020. So after receiving my ATT and scheduled my exam those are the times I gave my 100% concentration review.

I studied UWorld, I watch Youtube videos, and lastly I read about NurseAchieve 15days before my exam. Believed me, NurseAchieve gave me 100% confidence in passing the NCLEX. The day of my exam I woke-up @ 7am and jogging around 3 blocks by my house had shower and early lunch and late breakfast. My schedule is 1:00pm so I arrive there just in time 12:30pm. I had to undergo screening then I sat in the cubicle where I had to face my dream. Oh God, I had counted select all that apply questions got 35 all of them, 1 drag and drop, 1 picture, lots of prioritization, delegation, 1 calculations I end up to 75 questions.

I went home and I felt empty. I felt like I did not understand the questions. It is very vague. I could not sleep all night worried about my result. At 0700 am, my eyes still open, I log-in to my MQA account florida board of nursing website. OMG! after signing-in I immediately saw my License Number on the right upper top of my account and RN next to my name and saw "PASS".

After finding my result I screamed out loud my husband was screaming too. I cried out loud so happy all my children came to hug me. I am so proud of myself. I did it. The very next day, I processed the endorsement of my license from Florida to California. Now, I am PROUD REGISTERED NURSE CURRENTLY WORKING AS AN RN here in California. So, if your in doubt you can email me. Good luck to you guys. You can do it too.

Thank you for this information.  It was a great help.  I currently live in the state of California I will be attending ICHS as well.

Hey Jane, thank you so much for this information. Can you tell me how the online classes are? Like how long are the theory classes per week? And as for clinicals can we separate the times throughout the 15 weeks instead of doing it all consecutively? Thank you!

Online is most likely self-study you only get lecture from the instructor once or twice a week. There are due dates of the homeworks and theirs quizzes, midterm and final exams. Midterm and final is exam is proctored wherein you have to take videos of your working area before you take the exam and the camera should be focus on your face. You shouldn’t be moving or getting-up. For the clinical you have to schedule your own clinical and fly to florida every semester it depends on which semester your on but most likely 8-12 days x 12hrs per day. You have to book your air bnb or hotel. Goodluck.
