It sounds like you have a solid plan! Working as a caregiver can provide you with valuable experience in the healthcare field. At the same time, you prepare for the NCLEX exam to become a registered nurse (RN) in the United States. Here are a few steps you can take to prepare:

  • Research requirements. Make sure you understand the requirements for becoming a registered nurse in the U.S., including the specific requirements for international nurses.
  • NCLEX preparation. Start studying for the NCLEX exam. Many review courses, study guides, and practice tests are available to help you prepare. Consider enrolling in a review course specifically designed for international nurses.
  • Work as a caregiver. Gain experience working as a caregiver to familiarize yourself with the healthcare system in the U.S. This experience can also help you build valuable skills that will benefit you as a nurse. Build relationships as you work that may lead to job opportunities.
  • Apply for licensure. Once you feel prepared, you can apply to take the NCLEX exam in the state of your choice. Be sure to follow the application process carefully and provide all required documentation.

Remember to stay focused and dedicated to your goals. With hard work and perseverance, you can achieve your dream of practicing nursing in the United States.

Best wishes,

Nurse Beth
