hi! Ok Its been my dream to become a Nurse. Now days you have to have a BSN degree.
It is so competitive and the schools only take a little amount of students each semester.
I'm a good student (just finished my freshman year), but not an excellent student. (A,B, and couple Cs so far doing pre-reg classes) Is it out of my reach to make it straight into a bsn program?
Im trying to be realistic
If going straight into a BSN program is out of my reach, is there another way to get into nursing and end with a BSN?
What path do you recommend... do any of you know which schools in Louisiana are best for students like myself?
Any help/advice will be greatly appreciated
I don't want to give up my dream so trying to find out what options are out there

Try not to stress out too much. You still have a shot at a BSN right away. Learn from you experience as a freshman and you can hopefully improve your grades. Take advantage of resources your school offers. If you can't get into a BSN program, you can always try an ADN. In some areas, idk about Louisiana, it can be near impossible to land a job as an ADN new grad. You might have to settle for a less than ideal first job or consider moving to another area where the job market is more open for a few years. There are many, many RN to BSN programs which generally cater to students who are also working FT including reputable online programs. It may not be ideal but if you are passionate about becoming a nurse and willing to put in the effort there is probably a way forward for you. Best of luck!

Its very common for RNs to have an Associates so don't panic. However, a BSN does offer a more broad scope of opportunity for career advancement. You don not have to have a bachelors to be a Registered Nurse so if you don't think you would be admitted, go the ADN route at a community college which is much more cheaper and faster.
Good Luck!
