Hi there,
I'm interested in a career in nursing and wondering what others have to say about specialities that deal with nutrition issues. So far my mom (a nurse) has mentioned working in Diabetes or Cardiac. Are there any nurses in this area that I could chat with? I am interested in nursing primarily because of the ability to travel, have job security and the pay, and of course help others (which brings me a sense of purpose). However, my main interests lie in nutrition. How much do nurses in these specialities get to educate versus treat? Or perhaps people just volunteer (which I don't know if I'll have much energy to do once I start working)?
My background- I started out as a dietetics student, switched to economics to get into the public policy side of it, then realized I hated sitting at a desk in front of a computer all through school and not helping people directly, and now I'm back to considering nursing. I'm worried if nursing is right for me, but could be a good option.
Thanks
