Intellecutal standard - Nursing Fundamentals Help

Published

I am studying for my first Fundamentals tests, and I could not figure out the below question. Was hoping for some help.

Question: The surgical unit has initiated the use of a pain rating scale, which is to be used to assess clients' pain severity during their postoperative recovery. Susan, the registered RN assigned to Ms. Wills, looks at the pain flow sheet to see Ms. Wills' pain scores over the last 24 hours. Us of the pain scale is an example of which intellecutal standard?

1. Deep

2. Revelant

3. Consistent

4. Significant

Answer 3

What is the definition of Deep, Revelant, Consistent, and Significant?

Why isn't the answer Deep or Significant?

Specializes in Home Care.

It doesn't matter why the other answers aren't correct.

Think about it like this:

Use of a pain flow sheet shows consistency in how the patient's pain has been rated over a period of time.

Specializes in Med/Surg, Academics.

Yeah, that question would not be answered easily without the definitions of "intellectual standard!" If this question comes at the end of a chapter, try skimming through the chapter to find the section that covers it. Also, try the index.

FWIW, I've never heard of "intellectual standard." If you find it, could you come back and post the definitions, please?
