Hi all!Just wanted to know if any of you outthere, particularly in private practice, are doing things like IV vitamin therapy, chealation, New IV insulin infusion therapies, bioidentical hormone replacements etc? I guess what I'm asking is many MD/DOs are doing this stuff as an intergrative medicine. Is it even in the scope of practice of NPs? Are the patients receptive to you, or most of them insist on procedures like these to be performed by docs?
Thanks very much
Yes, I have worked with bioidentical hormone replacement therapy often. I work alongside a pharmacist who compounds the ingredients specific to the patient need.
I have not done any vitamin therapy. Chealation is a part of my practice.
Patients are rather open to my treatments for they are seeking out someone who is using a holistic approach as well as treating their physical problems with traditional medicine.
Hey Siri!
Thanks for your repply. It's great to know that NPs are practicing holistic approach.
Thanks.
I hope you wouldn't mind if I asked a couple of questions on NP practice via pm. :thankya:

I just interviewed an NP who is doing Intergrative Medicine. She went through the program at Arizona. The audio is available until Monday (4/13/09) at: http://www.nursepractitionerbusinessowner.com/public/270.cfm?sd=2 . The links to her website and book are also on that page.
Enjoy.
